Job Overview
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is seeking a dynamic, strategic and results‑driven professional for the role of Senior Financial Analyst.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop and recommend strategies, policies, procedures and guidelines through research, analysis and stakeholder input in general accounting practices.
- Maintain a professional awareness of current accounting practice, GAAP and the business environment of the utility industry.
- Conduct investigations into specialized accounting areas and prepare procedures that balance stakeholder needs.
- Review line accounting practices and provide due diligence assessment of accuracy, consistency and appropriateness of analysis and conclusions.
- Provide management reports utilizing financial systems and assist line managers in interpretation of financial and operational results.
- Ensure the integrity of the decision support process through preparation and review of business case summaries.
- Support the development and implementation of on‑going and new system needs and perform periodic reviews of financial systems and processes for improved productivity.
- Provide line managers with advice, guidance and support for business planning, budgeting, reporting, performance projections, resource forecasts and internal control.
Qualifications
Completion of 4 years of university education in Business, Economics or Accounting and an accredited professional accounting designation (e.g. CPA, CA, CMA, CGA).Minimum eight years of relevant experience.Demonstrated experience quantifying the financial impact of operational and strategic plans, including incremental cost analysis and headcount requirements for decision‑making and governance approvals.Proven ability to analyze complex financial issues with multiple known and unknown variables, evaluate alternative solutions and develop cost‑optimization recommendations using sound judgment and established precedents.Experience preparing clear, well‑structured financial analyses and supporting documentation for senior stakeholders, supporting approval, escalation and end‑to‑end follow‑through to resolution within a controlled finance environment.Experience with SAP is an asset.About OPG

Benefits & Compensation
Base salary range : $2,658.86 – $3,118.72 per week. Total compensation includes pay‑for‑performance programs, annual and medium time periods and is subject to collective agreement requirements for union‑represented positions.
