Schedule : 7 : 00am to 3 : 00pm Monday to Friday – with shared rotating weekend coverage
YOUR ROLE
The Kamloops Pulp Mill is currently looking to hire a full-time Lab Technician to join the Technical and Customer Services team.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
The position is responsible for testing and reporting results on :
üincoming raw material
üfinal product quality
üenvironmental
ühygiene
üin-process testing and troubleshooting
ütraining and assisting in other areas in the Mill
YOUR SKILLS AND ABILITIES
üYou are analytical and have logical thinking skills;
üYou have good communication skills, both written and oral;
üYou have strong computer skills (Microsoft applications); software database experience (QIS,
üParcView, etc.) is an asset but is not required;
üYou are known for your organizational skills, ability to prioritize and multitask, and have strong
üattention to detail;
üYou are a highly motivated individual with a positive attitude and strong work ethic;
üYou enjoy working in a team and can follow directions;
üYou can work with minimal supervision and meet work deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
üYou have completed a technical diploma or BSc degree in chemistry or related field (i.e. biology, bio-chem, micro-biology);
üPrevious laboratory experience is required; pulp mill and / or environmental testing experience is considered an asset;
üStrong computer system aptitude and experience working with various types of software including Microsoft Office Suite.
