Key Responsibilities :
- Design mechanical systems and equipment required for various stages of production
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions that enhance productivity, quality, and safety
- Utilize CAD software to create detailed designs, schematics, and technical drawings
- Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical equipment and systems
- Ensure that installations comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations, including guidelines for pharmaceutical production
- Maintain preventive maintenance schedules for mechanical systems and equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance
- Conduct routine inspections and diagnostic tests to identify and address mechanical issues promptly
- Implement corrective actions to resolve equipment failures or malfunctions efficiently
- Stay updated on regulations and guidelines governing production and GMP standards
- Ensure that all mechanical systems and equipment meet regulatory requirements and undergo necessary inspections and certifications
- Collaborate with regulatory affairs and quality assurance teams to address compliance issues and implement corrective measures
- Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and efficiency improvement within mechanical systems
- Lead or participate in projects aimed at upgrading or retrofitting existing equipment to meet evolving business needs and regulatory standards
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed engineering solutions
- Maintain accurate records of equipment specifications, maintenance activities, and compliance documentation
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal use and regulatory submissions as required.
Qualifications and Skills :
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Master's degree may be preferred for senior positions.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation or eligibility for registration with the relevant engineering regulatory body.
- Previous experience in a GMP or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and familiarity with engineering analysis tools.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and materials science.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical systems.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across functional teams.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
