Key Responsibilities :

  • Design mechanical systems and equipment required for various stages of production
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions that enhance productivity, quality, and safety
  • Utilize CAD software to create detailed designs, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical equipment and systems
  • Ensure that installations comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations, including guidelines for pharmaceutical production
  • Maintain preventive maintenance schedules for mechanical systems and equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance
  • Conduct routine inspections and diagnostic tests to identify and address mechanical issues promptly
  • Implement corrective actions to resolve equipment failures or malfunctions efficiently
  • Stay updated on regulations and guidelines governing production and GMP standards
  • Ensure that all mechanical systems and equipment meet regulatory requirements and undergo necessary inspections and certifications
  • Collaborate with regulatory affairs and quality assurance teams to address compliance issues and implement corrective measures
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and efficiency improvement within mechanical systems
  • Lead or participate in projects aimed at upgrading or retrofitting existing equipment to meet evolving business needs and regulatory standards
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed engineering solutions
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment specifications, maintenance activities, and compliance documentation
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal use and regulatory submissions as required.

Qualifications and Skills :

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Master's degree may be preferred for senior positions.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation or eligibility for registration with the relevant engineering regulatory body.
  • Previous experience in a GMP or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and familiarity with engineering analysis tools.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and materials science.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical systems.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across functional teams.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
