Journeyperson Welder

Matrix HR is currently hiring Journeyperson Welders for a long-term, high-profile shipbuilding project in the Lower Mainland, BC. This is steady, year-round work with excellent wages.

Wage : $57.01 / hour with a raise scheduled in January 2026.

Type : Full-Time, long term.

Schedule : Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.

Start Date : Potential mid-December, beginning January.

Relocation Assistance : $500 (one time) for those outside the Lower Mainland.

Referral Bonus – Open to Everyone :

We offer a $400 referral bonus to anyone who refers a Journeyperson Welder who is hired and works at least one week.

This bonus is for the person making the referral - it is not part of the welder’s compensation.

There is no limit on how many referrals you can submit.

Key Responsibilities :

• SMAW and FCAW welding on ship structures and components.
• Reading and interpreting blueprints and welding specifications.
• Oxy / fuel cutting, plasma cutting, and air-arc gouging.
• Working safely at heights, outdoors, and in confined spaces.
• Meeting shipbuilding quality standards and site safety procedures.
