JobSummary :
As anOccupational Therapist your typical day will impact the followingways :
Implementing and evaluatingoccupational therapy treatment programs.
Providing occupational therapy assessments consultation andinterventions for residents to maximize physical function andpromote independence and safety.
Determiningthe appropriate use of recognized occupational therapy assessmenttools such as neurobehavioral cognitive exams ADL / IADL assessmentsand related assessments by reviewing resident records interviewingthe resident and gathering relevant information to restore maintainand enhance occupational health quality andperformance.
Provides clinical expertiseconsultation and leadership in evidencebased occupational therapypractice to team members and residents.
Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to plan individualand / or group occupational therapy treatment programs byestablishing and prioritizing expected outcomes utilizing theselfmanagement model of living discussing implementation optionsand determining available resources.
Assigningcomponents of the residents treatment plan to designated teammembers by instructing observing and monitoring treatment providedto ensure quality resident care;
provides input in the performanceevaluations of designated team members.
Rolemodeling and demonstrating occupational therapy techniques andpractices.
Performs other duties asassigned.
Must haves :
Graduation from an approved program of OccupationalTherapy.
Current full registration with theCollege of Occupational Therapists of BC and eligible formembership in the BC Society of Occupational Therapists or CanadianAssociation of Occupational Therapists.
Allapplicants must successfully pass the prescribed Criminal RecordsCheck.
