The Opportunity
As a key member of the Wajax team, the Lead Hand will work with shop service manager & administrative staff to provide support with the daily operations of the shop.
This opportunity will be of interest to those that would like to take a more active role in the day-to-day operations of a service shop.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in Overseeing the day-to-day running of the shop and keep the flow of work constant.
- Answer any questions and assist technicians and apprentices with troubleshooting.
- Help with the train apprentices with proper work procedures.
- Verify the level of quality on completed projects by the technicians.
- Foster a workplace culture of safety, with appropriate leadership
- Continually promote health and safety awareness with instruction, information, training, and supervision to ensure the safe performance of employees
- Ensure that the technicians are wearing and using the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment
- Performing the regular duties of a shop technician.
- Ensuring employee safety and compliance with all safety regulations.
- Equipment / Facility maintenance & inspections.
- Assisting technicians with diagnosis, job procedures, requirements, special instructions, job flow and job completion with bay-to-bay coverage on a constant basis.
- Providing direction to the technicians as required.
- Providing regular updates to the shop service manager.
- Assist with data collection for the Hitachi FIR reports to support prompt warranty recovery
Qualifications
- Experience : 3-4 years of construction equipment repairs
- Education : Journeyman HET or equivalent experience
