As an Architectural Project Lead, you’ll join a collaborative team dedicated to excellence, working on mid-rise, high-rise, and luxury single-family residences.
This role is ideal for a design-driven architect with strong technical and project management skills, who thrives in an environment focused on crafting exceptional high-end spaces.
The Architectural Project Lead will partner with the Director of Architecture, leading project workflow, schedule, and budgeting, while playing a hands-on role in concept development.
You will work closely with our in-house architecture, interior design, and construction teams, guiding projects from initial design through construction completion.
This position also involves managing client relationships, mentoring junior staff, and actively contributing to the firm’s vision.
Key Responsibilities
- Concept Design Lead and contribute to the development of initial design concepts, integrating classical and modern architectural elements in line with the firm’s Human Architecture philosophy.
- Design Leadership Collaborate with the Director of Architecture to ensure design integrity and alignment with project goals from schematic design through construction details.
- Project Management : Support the preparation of project budgets and schedules, monitor invoicing, and ensure efficient workflow for the successful completion of high-quality projects.
- Documentation & Coordination Oversee and contribute to the production of all architectural drawings, design development, and construction documents;
coordinate with consultants to meet project timelines.
- Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration Work seamlessly with the Interior Design and Construction teams to deliver cohesive, integrated design solutions.
- Client Liaison Serve as the primary contact for clients on project specifics, managing day-to-day communication and supporting the Director of Architecture in maintaining client satisfaction.
- Team Mentorship Mentor and guide junior staff, promoting the firm’s core values of quality, loyalty, and excellence.
- Technical Proficiency Apply strong technical knowledge in building science, construction methods, and Ontario Building Code compliance to ensure the highest standards in project execution.
- Advocacy of Human Architecture Act as an ambassador for the firm’s design philosophy, contributing to its influence both locally and internationally.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Architecture; OAA license is an asset but not required.
- Minimum of 10 years in architectural design and drawing production, from concept design to construction administration, with expertise in high-end residential and multi-unit mid-rise / high-rise projects.
Experience in interior architecture is an asset.
- Proven experience in developing and leading concept designs, with a strong portfolio demonstrating an understanding of traditional and modern architectural principles.
- Proficiency in Revit, Rhino, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office. Strong hand-drawing skills and experience producing high-quality renderings and presentation materials.
- In-depth understanding of building science, detailing, building systems, Ontario Building Code, and Classical Architecture principles.
- Strong time management, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects with accountability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; personable with excellent presentation abilities.
