- Vacation : Less than one (1) complete year of service one (1) day of vacation for each month of service to a maximum of ten (10) days 4% of earnings.
1 to 5 years of service two (2) weeks with 4% of earnings.
Overtime : Paid at after 44 hours per week
POSITION DETAILS :
- Full Time Permanent
- Shift Schedule (12hr rotation, Days / Nights)
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Safe and effective preventative planning and maintenance of equipment related to steel manufacturing.
- Diagnose and repair electrical equipment deficiencies
- Communicate with site management to coordinate maintenance priorities
- Maintain maintenance records
- Adhere to all safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Take part in all training requirements.
- Management of maintenance systems
- Establishing new and maintaining / continually improving existing preventative maintenance programs.
- Ability to work effectively in a self-managing team environment
- Able to respond to callouts and requirements for extra hours when required
MAIN DUTIES :
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations
- Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fibre-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components
- Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance
- Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators and reactors
- Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems
- Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices
- Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records
- May install, maintain and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices.
REQUIREMENTS :
- Completion of a secondary school diploma is required.
- Completion of diploma or degree in electrical engineering is required.
- Candidates must successfully complete Fit & Drug testing, pre-employment medical and online assessments to be hired.
- A minimum of three years of work experience in an electrical position
