JobSummary :

Asa carpenters helper / drywall installer you’ll be workingclosely with a lead carpenter supporting the developments incommercial residential and other construction projects.

The workwill include : drywall installation and repairs installing all typesof floor coverings ceilings paneling trim and framing.

You must beable to use a wide variety of hand and power tools and maintainthem in good safe working order. Site safety is critical in thisrole as a mid senior level leading by example and directing lessexperienced team members where needed.

KeyResponsibilities

• Provideproper training on the safe use of hand tools and powerequipment.
• Learnthe ropes from foundation to framing and everything inbetween.
• Assistother trades onsite asneeded.
• Preparesurfaces for painting and finishing but ensure drywall has beensanded andprimed.
• Preparelayouts in conformance to building codes using measuringtools.
• Paintingmay be required on site from time totime.
• Buildfoundations install floor beams lay subflooring and erect walls androofsystems.
• Fitand install trim items such as doors stairs moulding andhardware.
• Maintainrepair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills mineshospitals industrial plants and otherestablishments.

Requirements

• Minimum0.5 years of experience as a Junior Carpenter or 1 year of skilledlabour in residential or nonresidentialconstruction.
• Abilityto meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periodsof time lifting heavy loads of up to90lbs).
• Interestin working towards developing carpentryskills
• Strongcustomer service and frontfacingskills.
• Basicknowledge in all aspects ofCarpentry.
• Agood gut for heights managing a crew and working on busy highpressure jobsites.
• Aptitudeinmath.

WorkConditions

• 24 / 7availability may be required overtime will be paidaccordingly.
• Travelto offsite locations may berequired.
• Safetyequipment will be required e.g. steeltoed safety boots safetyglasses / gogglesetc.
• Hazardsassociated with thetrade.
• Workboth indoors in confined spaces andoutdoors.
• Cleanwarm work clothes (jeans longsleeves hoodiesetc.).
