Job Summary
Laboratory Technologist's work in a variety of areas within NL Health Services, including but not limited to Hematology, Biochemistry, Anatomical Pathology, Microbiology, etc.
Laboratory Technologist duties include routine and stat samples analyses on blood and body fluids, quality assurance activities such as corrective actions and documentation and equipment maintenance and monitoring.
Job Demands

Occasionally lifts and / or unload objects weighing up to 30 lbs.
Regularly stands or sits for extended periods, requiring constant repetitive movement of upper extremities and walking to deliver reports / results.
Visual and auditory concentration are constant and eye / hand coordination and higher than normal levels of attentiveness are required.
Job Qualifications
Graduation from a recognized (accredited) program with a diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or a degree in Medical Laboratory Science is required.
Current and continuing certification with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) as a general MLT or applicable subject MLT is required.
Current and continuing registration with the NL Council of Health Professionals is required.
A satisfactory record of work performance is required.
