Are you an organized, proactive administrative professional who thrives in a fast-paced, community-focused environment? The Ta na wa Shéway i7x̱w ta Úxwumixw - Squamish Valley Operations team is looking for a skilled Community Operations Officer to provide critical support to the Manager and serve as the central point of contact for all things Totem Hall, from event coordination and bookings to home repair scheduling and team logistics. This isn’t just an administrative role; it’s your chance to make meaningful connections and contribute directly to the Squamish Nation community.

What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate all bookings and rentals for Totem Hall, including communication with renters and setup planning.
  • Act as the primary liaison for internal and external event organizers, vendors, and community members.
  • Support members in accessing home maintenance services and coordinate contractors and repair tracking.
  • Maintain detailed administrative systems for scheduling, filing, reporting, and correspondence.
  • Collaborate with Custodian and Field Repair Teams to ensure seamless event and project execution.
  • Assist in planning and supporting community events, celebrations, and facility logistics.
  • Provide front-line administrative and secretarial support to the Manager, including meeting coordination, minute-taking, and communications.
  • Manage purchase orders, invoices, and financial tracking for maintenance and event-related activities.
  • Support workplace health and safety through reporting, inspections, and first aid coordination.

What We’re Looking For

  • A combination of education and experience or Certificate in Office Administration or related field; additional training in event coordination, emergency planning, or communications is an asset.
  • Experience in administrative roles, preferably in a community or operations-focused setting.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to multitask under tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, with diplomacy and a community-first mindset.
  • Experience coordinating bookings, handling confidential correspondence, and supporting project logistics.
  • Proficiency in office software, digital filing systems, and scheduling tools.
  • Cultural sensitivity and a deep respect for the values and traditions of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw.
  • Ability to occasionally lift supplies and support physical event setup when required.

Salary: $47,000 - $66,000

Candidates are typically offered compensation between the beginning to the midpoint of the range. Weare committed to providing a fair and equitable package that reflects the value an individual brings to the organization.
