Responsibilities
The Cultivation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing assigned compartment and associated activities to ensure tasks are carried out according to established SOPs. This role is critical to maintaining a high quality, super-premium product through close monitoring of the plants throughout the lifecycle, supporting IPM (scouting / pest management) and fertigation activities, and communicating relevant findings to leadership. This role reports directly to the Senior Cultivation Manager and is based out of our Hope location.
- Ensure employees are compliant with all facility standard operating procedures including gowning, sanitation, workplace safety, confidentiality, and inventory traceability.
- Perform tasks related to the cultivation of cannabis, and train and oversee others in performing those tasks. Work with the Greenhouse Manager on the following :
- Defoliation events and harvests
- Pruning, topping, and bending events
- Sanitation, waste disposal, and room turn around
- Work with team members on scouting, pest monitoring, foliar and preventative sprays
- Manage employees to complete all activities listed above
- Monitor plant health daily; complete associated forms and checklists, identify and communicate all observations and concerns to the Senior Cultivation Manager
- Ensure compliance with inventory tracking of plants from clone through to harvest using the seed-to-sale software; conduct monthly inventory audits to ensure full traceability
- Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment
- Recommend process improvements to Greenhouse Manager to increase productivity while maintaining a high-quality product
- Monitor and support employee safety, morale and productivity
- Report any employee issues or safety concerns to the Senior Cultivation Manager
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a supervisory position with direct responsibility for a team, preferably in a production environmentExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to stand, sit, and kneel for extended periodsLift equipment or plants up to 50 lbsAbility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic and challenging environmentAbility to communicate in spoken Spanish is an assetPossession of Health Canada security clearance, or ability to get clearance, is an assetWhy Rubicon?
