Electrical Designer, Engineer-in-training (EIT)

Full time, Monday to Friday, 40 hours / week

Based in Burnaby, BC

Salary range $65,000 to $95,000 / year based on experience

Are you seeking to gain hands on experience in the electrical engineering field? Do you have an eye for detail and a passion for electrical design in building and construction industry?

In this role you will work closely with the Principals and a tight knit collaborative team to support various design and construction projects to gain practical experience in the electrical engineering and consulting field. Exposure to various types of electrical design projects in a fast paced environment is an excellent opportunity for professional growth and work towards P.Eng. You’ll also be able to network with industry professionals and gain valuable hands on experience in all aspects of electrical engineering from consulting and business development to drawings and site evaluations.

A typical day in the office might look like making a latte on the espresso machine, checking emails and managing priorities, setting up AutoCAD drawings, performing calculations, preparing technical reports, conducting a site visit, and performing project administrative duties, all while closely collaborating with teammates. Some days we’ll end the day with a client meeting or a networking event. Our fully renovated office is centrally located by Gilmore Skytrain station.

Duties & Responsibilities

• AutoCAD drafting and design
• Perform conductor sizing calculations, overcurrent protection design, perform lighting and lighting control design and power schematic design layout
• Ensure design checklist and AutoCAD Standards are being followed
• Technical writing for electrical report
• Conduct site visits and field reviews
• Collaborate with Principals to develop and implement internal processes and quality check procedures
• Maintain and organize engineering records and dataSupport in filing invoices, expenses and other administrative duties and projects as needed
