The Opportunity

Reporting to the Clinical Manager, the Clinical Interventionist will work with healthcare professionals including Nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, In-Home Support Youth Care Workers, Community Navigators, Recreation Therapists and Psychiatrists.

The Clinical Interventionist will work with children, youth and families, utilizing a culturally relevant and evidenced informed approach to deliver care to children and youth up to 19 years of age in an ambulatory clinic, outreach or community-based setting.

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday; 8 : 30am - 4 : 30pm (37.5 hours per week). Some evening work and flexibility may be required.

Your Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in clinical psychology, Speech-Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy or Master’s degree in behaviour analysis or education with Board Certified Behaviour Analysis (BCBA) Certificate.
  • Registered, or eligible for registration, with the appropriate professional body in Nova Scotia required. NOTE : If the successful candidate is master’s prepared and does not have a registration body (i.

e. licensing association or college), ongoing supervision by a Master’s or PhD level licensed health care professional is required and will be provided.

  • Experience working in a pediatric mental health and addictions setting preferred.
  • Experience in conducting assessments and developing treatment plans and interventions.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, implement and monitor psychological programming to promote skill development to enhance social-emotional functioning
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team in a variety of settings; ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated excellent presentation, facilitation, and communication skills; both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills; ability to develop and maintain internal / external partnerships.
  • Demonstrated excellent time management, organization, and problem-solving skills. .
  • Demonstrates understanding and commitment to family centered care.
  • Current successful completion of CPR Level-C Healthcare Provider or Basic Life Support (BLS) course within the las 12 months.
