We’re hiring Assistant Growers in Leamington , ON!

• $65,000 – $75,000 annually, based on experience
• Full-time positions available in greenhouse growing operations
• Hot, high humidity environment with fast-paced production
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding conditions

Responsibilities :

Assist Head or Operational Grower with all aspects of growing operations, including pest management, climate, irrigation, and labor planning

Perform crop care tasks, mix and apply plant nutrition and health products as needed

Monitor and adjust greenhouse climate and irrigation systems, and collect plant and water sample data

Inspect crops regularly, removing substandard or diseased plants to maintain quality

Conduct minor maintenance on growing equipment and support continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with GMP, SOP, health & safety, and food safety standards

Requirements :

Secondary school diploma required; post-secondary education or certification in horticulture or related field preferred

Minimum 2 years’ experience in commercial greenhouse or farm environment

WHMIS and Grower Pesticide certifications considered assets; experience with PRIVA climate control preferred

Strong attention to detail with ability to identify plant abnormalities and pests

Proficient in Microsoft Office and knowledgeable in GMP, Health & Safety, Food Safety, HACCP, and PrimusGFS programs

Working Conditions :

Hot, humid environment (up to 100°ree;F in summer) with noise from machinery and forklifts

Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and manual handling

Regular computer and phone use with some prolonged sitting
