Location : This is a hybrid role with a minimum in-office requirement of 3 days per week at our Ottawa, ON office located at 40 Hines Rd, Ottawa, ON K2K 2M5, Canada.

Position Summary :

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Quality Assurance and Operations Developer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our products and operations.

As a senior member of the team, you will play a key role in driving the testing strategy, mentoring junior QA engineers, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions, and having the skills and passion for driving operation activities.

Responsibilities :

• Test Strategy : Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and develop comprehensive test plans.
• Test Design : Create and execute test strategies, cases, and scripts to validate software functionality, performance, reliability, and security.
• Testing Excellence : Perform various types of testing, including functional, regression, integration, and performance, to identify and address defects.
• Automation : Develop and maintain test automation frameworks, tools, and infrastructure for efficient and effective testing.
• Defect Management : Identify, document, and track software defects, ensuring their successful resolution.
• Cross-functional Collaboration : Work with development, product management, and customer support teams to ensure timely and high-quality software releases.
• Operations : Ensure the performance, availability, and reliability of servers, services, and microservices in both Public and Private Cloud environments while adhering to SLAs.
• Operational Support : Participate in on-call rotations to support and debug customer-reported issues as well as internally created service incidents.
• Security and Compliance : Maintain a strong focus on security and compliance within the cloud environment.
• Continuous Learning : Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies, maintaining a commitment to learning and improvement.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including DevOps practices, testing, and operations.
• Proficiency in AWS / Azure and expertise in cloud-native architecture.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a team-oriented mindset.
• In-depth knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, or Java.
• Experience with test automation tools, frameworks, and methodologies.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI / CD processes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Proactive, self-driven attitude, and a commitment to continuous learning.

Preferred Qualifications (Not Mandatory) :

• Experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) with a focus on SLO / SLIs in a commercial cloud-based service.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices and compliance adherence within a cloud environment, including PCI, ISO27001, and SOC2.
