JOB DESCRIPTION

Insight Global is seeking a CNC Machinist to join one of Victoria's largest aerospace manufacturing companies. This opportunity will be 5 days a week onsite in Victoria, BC and a relocation package will be offered to any candidates that are willing to move for the role.

Required Skills & Experience

Minimum 1.5 years of experience operating CNC Mill with completed diploma / education
Minimum 5 years of experience operating CNC Mill if no post secondary diploma / education
Ability to read blueprints and set pieces
Understanding of programming software for CNC Mills Understanding of modeling software

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Possession of a degree and / or certification in a relevant field (e.g., Certificate in CNC Programming, Red Seal certificate, Millwright certificate, Mechanical Engineer etc.)

Experience operating 5 Axis CNC Mill - Specific experience with MasterCam and SolidWorks

Duties & Responsibilities :

Operated and set up CNC machines (5 axis experience is an asset) to produce precision parts

Interpreted technical blueprints and designs to understand the specifications and requirements of a part.

Program CNC machines (5 axis experience is an asset) Turning and Milling, inputting the design specifications and ensuring the machine performs as required.

Measured and examine completed parts to verify conformance to specifications using precision tools like micrometers and calipers

Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, and materials onto machines

Adjust machine settings to optimize production while maintaining quality

Collaborate with engineers or designers for custom jobs or to refine manufacturing processes

Ability to run three axis and 5 axis machines to prove the program Skills & Experience :

Possess an Inter Provincial Machinist Trades Qualification or similar trade equivalency from another recognized national, state, or provincial body.

Advanced Programming knowledge with Mastercam (5 axis programing experience is an asset) and modeling SolidWorks.

Must be able to meet all physical duties required of the department
