Responsibilities

  • Working independently and within a team environment to support the client service staff to produce high quality client deliverables
  • Provide billing support using various Doane Grant Thornton systems and in accordance with the terms of the engagement letter
  • Managing electronic and paper-based client files and compilations of tax returns
  • Format and assemble printed and electronic financial statements in compliance with Firm standards, ensuring a high level of attention to detail, proofreading, and timely delivery
  • Preparation of letters and reports using firm templates in compliance with Firm standards
  • Proof-read, review for quality and verify content before finalizing any client deliverables
  • Preparing hard files for clients based on requests from the external client service team and new client setup processes
  • Data entry and maintenance of paper and electronic files, in accordance with the Firm’s document retention and destruction policies and procedures
  • E-filing as required
  • Scan documents and embed in electronic file
  • Participate in training and stay current with Doane GT software
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of time and expense reports for the partner(s) supported
  • Organize information and maintain database for marketing purposes using our contact relationship management software
  • Plan and coordinate cost-effective and sometimes complex domestic and international travel arrangements and itineraries for individuals and groups
  • Entering and maintaining client data using Microsoft Dynamics 365 software
  • General administrative duties including, but not limited to : reception, filing, photocopying, scanning, faxing and mailing

Qualifications

  • Strong Word Processing Skills
  • 2 to 4 years of administrative experience
  • Excellent data entry skills and high attention to detail with an aptitude for proofreading and suggesting alternatives
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Exceptional client service mindset
  • Computer savvy – ability to learn and troubleshoot various computer programs
  • Knowledge of CaseWare and or Keystone and past experience in financial statement preparation an asset
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Takes initiative, takes direction and works well independently
  • Keen attention to detail, efficient and accurate

We benchmark regularly across a wide spectrum of roles, industries, sectors, and levels to ensure our ranges are both competitive and current. Our salary ranges are reviewed annually, and where you land within the range depends on a mix of factors—your background, your skills, and how your contributions align with internal equity. The current salary range for this role is $42,000–$48,000 in Penticton, BC. If the role is available in other locations, the range may differ to reflect local market factors.
