Position Overview
As our Manager, Commercial Security, you will lead all physical and operational security functions across our Commercial Operations, ensuring full compliance with nuclear regulatory and licensing requirements. You will safeguard sensitive materials, information, infrastructure, and personnel while overseeing contract security partners and core security systems. Working closely with site leadership, HR, and the Crisis Support Team, you will influence and enforce security controls, manage vendor relationships, and communicate effectively during security events to ensure the controlled flow of sensitive information.

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
- Conduct regular site security assessments and vulnerability reviews to identify risks and ensure continuous threat mitigation.
- Oversee physical security infrastructure, including alarms, barriers, lighting, and secure storage, and plan for long‑term improvements.
- Lead or manage security investigations, ensuring proper documentation, evidence handling, and escalation.
- Drive a strong security culture through awareness campaigns, leadership engagement, and employee reporting.
- Manage electronic Access Control and Intrusion Detection Systems, including badging, access privileges, and audits.
- Supervise the contracted security guard force, including training, performance, and deployment.
- Develop, maintain, and test Security Incident Response Plans, coordinating responses with emergency services and the Corporate Crisis Support Team.
- Maintain and distribute site‑specific security policies, procedures, and SOPs in line with corporate and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate the Facility Insider Threat Program locally, including reporting, training, and escalation to the Corporate Crisis Support Team.
- Serve as the primary security contact for regulatory audits and inspections, ensuring operational compliance.
- Provide threat intelligence and travel security guidance for employees.
- Deliver mandatory security training to all site personnel, covering threat awareness, physical security, and handling sensitive information.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or a related field; professional certifications such as CPP or PMP are a plus.Minimum 7 years of progressive physical security experience, including at least 3 years in nuclear, defense, or highly regulated energy operations.In‑depth knowledge of Canadian nuclear security regulations, audit requirements, and maintaining audit‑ready programs.Experience managing security in a shared services or matrixed environment.Proven ability to oversee security programs, conduct risk assessments, and implement mitigation plans.Skilled in managing third‑party security vendors and contract guard forces, including performance coaching and KPI oversight.Expertise in electronic security systems including ACS, IDS, and CCTV, and advanced security technologies.Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, with experience leading and mentoring security personnel.Benefits

The base salary range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $89,000 and $139,000 per year. The final base salary offered will depend on local market factors and the candidate’s experience and qualifications. The total compensation package may also include an annual cash incentive and a full range of medical, retirement, and other benefits.
