About The Position
Reporting to the Team Leader, the Welder will be responsible for :
- Assembling and welding structural steel.
- Rigging, hoisting, and moving materials to and from the workstation; performing crane checks daily to ensure the crane is in working condition, if applicable.
- Laying out reference points and symbols on the structural steel according to the blueprint.
- Operating welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as flux‑cored arc welding.
- Setting up and operating various equipment such as torches, drills, clamping tools, squares, disc grinders, and other hand‑held tools.
- Ensuring safe work practices are adhered to and appropriate PPE is worn at all times.
- Mentoring apprentices and junior fitters by sharing knowledge and safe work practices.

Minimum 3 years of welding structural steel experience.Completion of a three‑year apprenticeship program in Metal Fabrication or Welding is an asset.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols.Ability to read a tape measure in both metric and imperial units.Ability to operate overhead cranes.Ability to weld with Fluxcore and sub‑arc processes.Knowledge of health and safety procedures.A team player who can interrelate and operate effectively with peers and other associates in a collegial, demanding work environment.Strong organizational skills and flexibility in managing changing priorities.Excellent communication skills – both written and oral.Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.Analytical and problem‑solving skills.Compensation Package
