WHO WE ARE
The Catholic Independent Schools of the Diocese of Victoria (CISDV) operates 5 schools on Vancouver Island - 4 elementary and 1 high school. Our schools are located throughout Vancouver Island, near the best sites and attractions that Vancouver Island and British Columbia has to offer.
We are a culturally diverse faith-based family. We offer more than a place of work - we provide a call to your teaching vocation where you can work and live your faith in a supportive community.
We are a vibrant school system with many school and program expansion projects in the future. We offer spiritual and professional growth and mentorship opportunities for new teachers to help them with their transition into the CISDV.
WHY TEACH WITH THE CISDV
ABOUT
The educational goals (spiritual, physical, intellectual, cultural, emotional and social) of St. Andrew’s Regional High School prepare students to become participants in a lifestyle characterized by commitment to God, neighbour and self.
Our motto, To Build in Love, states our intention to form an educational community based on wholehearted caring and mutual respect. Individual growth takes place in the context of relationships in a community.
Following Christ’s invitation, we work to develop our own gifts and nurture those of others. A strong academic program coupled with an extra-curricular program in athletics, fine arts and community involvement, enables us to prepare our students to live fuller lives
Our school is located in Saanich, BC, just a 10-minute drive to Victoria’s downtown core, beaches, and other attractions.
I have worked for Island Catholic Schools (ICS) for thirty years. Reflecting on my years in ICS, I’m filled with gratitude. It is my responsibility to teach our wonderful students about God’s beautiful creation; to explain how generators work, how the blue color of the sky is formed and how we are able to calculate the mass of the earth. But as thrilling as that is, it is also being part of the community of staff, students, parents, priests and sisters that fills me with joy every day!
