Proposal Coordinator – Bird Construction
Join Bird Construction, a leader in Canadian construction with 5,000+ employees, to coordinate proposal preparation and submission for government agencies. This role reports to the Pursuit Manager – Defence and works closely with corporate and regional teams across Canada. Preferred location : Edmonton, AB, but open across other offices.
What You’ll Be Working On
Coordinate proposal preparation and submission :
- Read and distribute RFP / Request for Pre-Qualification information to the pursuit team.
- Distribute internal requests for information.
- Centralize and standardize RFP content.
- Set deadlines and manage submissions.
- Strategize content with Defence Proposal Team.
- Draft tailored content and manage technical accuracy.
- Work with external vendors and stakeholders for input.
- Review and edit proposal material.
- Arrange for proposal reviews.
- Share lessons learned and best practices.
Incorporate continuous improvement and compliance mindset :
Track proposal submissions, successes, and improvement opportunities.Create and maintain template documents.Set up and participate in debriefs and collect feedback.Act as point of contact for RFP, RFPQ, EOI communications.Ensure consistent look, feel, quality, and compliance.Archive information and update marketing database.Maintain marketing information files and project folders.What We’re Looking For
Undergraduate degree or diploma in marketing, communications, business-related field or equivalent experience.3–5 years of proposal creation experience in government-related projects within sales, business development or marketing.Superior written and verbal communication skills.Ability to communicate across all levels of organization.Proficient or advanced skills with Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).Proficient or advanced skills with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint).Experience with CRM tools is an asset.Excellent project coordination skills and understanding of business processes.Ability to forge and maintain positive relationships.Strong multitasking, prioritization, and time‑management under pressure.Strong analytical, critical thinking, troubleshooting, problem‑solving skills and high accuracy.Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.Sense of urgency and commitment to achieving goals in fast‑paced environments.Collaborative, positive attitude.Background in corporate construction, architecture, or engineering is an asset.Experience with government procurement is an asset.Interest in implementing AI tools is an asset.Values and Culture
