Overview
The Nexus Water Group team has an opportunity for a skilled Area Supervisor (Water Treatment Level 3). This position is responsible for supervising all aspects of operations for the multi-utility services within their assigned operations area. They oversee, coordinate, and perform maintenance activities, monitor and enhance system performance of the various utility operations, and ensure customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
Work Location and Schedule
Location : Kamloops, BC. Some travel required, including visits to working plants and construction sites. Full‑time schedule.
What You’ll Do
Supervise, maintain, monitor, adjust, and control the process flow of multi‑utility systems in the area portfolio to ensure safe and efficient operation and compliance with safety requirements, contractual obligations, policies, codes, regulations, and laws.Monitor and evaluate system performances against safety, environmental, efficiency, and availability objectives; determine performance baselines and perform investigations or corrective actions as needed.Ensure completion of preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance by assigning, supervising, and participating in activities using the Lucity CMMS.Direct and supervise staff, participate in recruitment, selection, orientation, training, and evaluation; maintain a safe, secure, and legal work environment while developing growth opportunities.Lead and support the development of safety documentation such as OERPs, SJP, SWPs, ERP, and SOPs.Perform site, job, and field level hazard assessments and site inspections.Monitor equipment and systems on site and via SCADA or Apogee systems to ensure correct operation.Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance performed by Catalex operators and external contractors; oversee use of CMMS.Identify and report performance issues and take corrective action to prevent injuries, financial loss, and system failure.Oversee and participate in emergency first response as required.Assist with P&L budget management, forecasting, and inventory control.What You’ll Bring
Minimum 5 years of experience in district energy, water, wastewater, or utility operations.Minimum 3 years of experience in a supervisory or management role.EOCP Water Operator 3, and / or Wastewater Operator 3 are assets.Valid driver’s licence; able to provide driver’s abstract.Confined space awareness, first aid Level I, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and ability to provide advice to staff to resolve issues.Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
