OVERVIEW

Working out of Kruger's head office in Montréal, the Corporate Affairs and Communications team is primarily responsible for enhancing the Company’s visibility while strengthening relationships with its stakeholders (employees, partners, communities, governments, media).

The team supports the Company's management, business units, manufacturing plants and departments in terms of strategic and tactical communications.

This translates into the developing communication strategies, planning and organizing events, writing content for various publications and platforms, creating and updating communication tools, and managing social media accounts.

As the Senior Advisor, Strategic Communication, you play an essential role in shaping the Company’s corporate image and ensuring consistency across all communications.

More specifically, you will play an advisory role for different internal teams and will take part in developing and implementing internal and external communication strategies and campaigns.

You will manage various communication projects, including the creation of strategic content, and will collaborate on complex communication mandates involving several colleagues and activity sectors.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Play an active role in assessing communication needs within the Company, as well as in developing and implementing communication strategies.
  • Create various contents related to communication strategies and campaigns.
  • Work closely with internal teams to support them in their outreach activities or in dealing with complex or sensitive issues, including the development of customized campaigns and content.
  • Be actively involved in corporate events, as well as digital and outreach activities.
  • Build trust with internal partners and external stakeholders.
  • Represent the department on various committees.
  • When necessary, represent the Company at external events.
  • Perform all other duties related to the position.

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION

Hold an undergraduate degree in a relevant field (communications, journalism, public relations, or another related discipline).

EXPERIENCE

  • At least 10 years of work experience in the field.
  • Experience in a large company or multi-sector organization.
  • Experience in corporate communication and in internal communication.
  • Significant experience in writing strategic content, as well as a wide variety of business and promotional content.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of internal communication within an operational context, an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, in French and English.
  • The successful candidate will be required to communicate in French and English on a regular basis with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong intellectual curiosity, creativity, autonomy, and initiative.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to meet tight deadlines.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Office 365 and social media.

LANGUAGE

  • Fluent in French (expert level)
  • Fluent in English (advanced level, written and spoken)

Knowledge of English is required for this specific position as Kruger deals with partners across North America and the successful candidate will be required to communicate frequently with them.
