A reputable Real Estate and Property Management Company is seeking a Controller through Robert Half who has a knack for leading with high standards, positively motivating others, and making critical decisions and have experience taking charge of an accounting and clerical department.
The ideal candidate for this position can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff.

Responsibilities
- Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis
- Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time
- Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management
- Respond on items beyond formal job responsibilities
- Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required
- Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports
- Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
- Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G / L analysis
- Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation
- Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
- Review deliverables of self and team to align with client expectations
Job Requirements :
- CPA or MBA preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)
- Real estate or property management industry experience is a considered an asset
- Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Top notch analytical, quantitative and social skills
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
- Be detailed, flexible, and organized
