Nowhere elsecan you ride a single gondola almost 4000ft. right to the summit and dropstraight into the goods. Our clients are as varied as our terrain : locals,weekend warriors and homeowners from Calgary, and destination guests from allover Canada, the Americas and Europe.
Instructors here are kept on their toesdelivering exceptional, individualized guidance and instruction with a hugevariety of expectations.
You will :
- Ensure the safety ofstudents and guests and provide an exceptional mountain experience throughprofessional instruction in skiing or snowboarding
- Contribute to aprofessional, supportive environment for other Instructors and KHMR staff
- Mentor and lead ourenthusiastic staff with the aim of developing excellence within the school
- Conduct instructortraining sessions for the advancement of our growing staff
- Provide group andprivate lessons for all ages in beginner to expert terrain
- Maintain records ofteaching with the Winter Sports School Team Lead
- Engage in daily teammeetings, training and other communications necessary to provide a high-quality instructional experience forguests of the resort
- Perform other dutiesas assigned
- Be flexible in termsof hours scheduled and lesson types assigned
- Be able to withstandextended periods of exposure to extreme weather conditions on resort (cold,wind, snow, altitude)
You :
- Arean advocate for health and safety who prioritizes the safety of yourco-workers, clients and guests
- Have relevant CASILevel 3 or 4 Instructor certification
- HaveCASI Level 1 & 2 course conductor / trainer status an asset
- Have previousprofessional work experience in a snow or recreation instructor role asappropriate for given certification level
- Have an outgoingpersonality with excellent communication skills
- Are passionate aboutinstructing and creating a safe and engaging learning environment
- Have passion andenthusiasm for mountain culture, skiing / snowboarding, and the resortenvironment
- Have strong teamwork & cooperationexperience
- Are committed to safety
- Must have flexibility in hours and lessontype
- Are able to withstand extended periods ofexposure to extreme weather conditions on resort (cold, wind, snow, altitude)
- Have sufficientstrength, physical conditioning, and stamina to be able to conduct on-mountainski or snowboarding lessons for extended periods of time
- First Aid, guidingand / or avalanche certification or training an asset
- Have a completedcriminal background check
- Can provide one,preferably two, professional references
