Qualifications and Experience

Advanced College Diploma or University Degree or equivalent with a focus in Human Resources or related discipline. Currently working towards (or have completed) certification as a human resources professional designation.

5 - 7 years of progressive HR experience, ideally 4 years at a manager level with extensive knowledge of public sector, collective bargaining and collective agreement interpretation.

Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience using SAP. Skills and Competencies : Excellent leadership and ability to motivate teams and individuals to reach their full potential.

Demonstrated ability to exercise tact, discretion, diplomacy and confidentiality. Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with unions, management and employees.

Excellent verbal, written, facilitation and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to be analytical, consultative and a confident decision maker.

Possess a thorough knowledge of applicable Human Resources legislation governing within a union setting with a commitment to researching and understanding best practices.
