Refrigerator Operator Class B / Maintenance Technician

This is a hands‑on, essential role where you’ll ensure the reliability and safety of our ammonia refrigeration, boilers, and air compressors. If you’re a licensed pro with a keen eye for detail and a passion for precision engineering, we want you on our team. We’re offering $40 / hour plus a night shift premium , Saturday 1.5 Overtime, Sunday 2 times overtime

Responsibilities
- Responsible for refrigeration system in the plant (operation and maintenance) as well as boilers and air compressors.
- Performs and records water tests on boilers and Cooling towers. Adjusts chemicals as required.
- Performs and records bi hourly rounds on engine and mechanical rooms. Informs management of any concerns
- Twice daily rounds of refrigerated areas in plant and records temperatures adjusting systems if required.
- Participate in PM program making minor repairs to Utilities equipment to maintain TSSA regulations.
- Must maintain GMP and QA standards.
- Assist with Plant sanitation team as needed.
- Responsible for LFS systems after hours and responds to calls, floods and temperature concerns.
- Must be available for OT if required.
- Must carry duty phone and radio answering to plant concerns.
- Additional duties may be assigned by the Chief Engineer or designate.
Requirements
Willingness and ability to work across all shifts when necessary.Willingness and ability to work extended hours when necessary.Strong knowledge and experience maintaining and troubleshooting refrigeration equipment.Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical would be an asset.Must have a valid Refrigeration Operator Class B or 3rd Class Operating Engineer certificateExperience with ammonia compressors and refrigeration equipment required.Experience with coil tube boilers required.Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the English language.#J-18808-Ljbffr
