Position Summary :
Reporting to the Warehouse and Production and Warehouse Manager, the Receiver is responsible for inbound shipments and for the safe, efficient transportation of raw materials, packaging and finished goods within the plant and warehouse in accordance with General Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements.
Major Duties and Responsibilities :
- Pre op maintenance checks on forklift equipment
- Unloading of inbound trucks and receiving of inbound materials including :
- Checking material against bill of lading, and signing receipts.
- Ensuring all other paperwork and inventory control documentation is completed
- Receiving and storing raw materials and packaging deliveries
- Putting materials away into appropriate locations, according to sequence and coding
- Ensure that the materials are accurately entered into the enterprise resource planning system J.D.E.
- Making, transporting and storing skids
- Handling internal inquiries and provide assistance in locating and delivering materials.
- Inspect for quality, quantity and correct material, conformity to existing material already in stock and WHMIS labelling, if applicable
- Accurate & timely reporting of all quality issues
- Follow all proper maintenance, sanitation and Health & Safety protocols at all times.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and general housekeeping
- Train others as required
- Order picking
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience :
- High School Diploma / GED or equivalent experience
- 1-3 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment
- Receiving experience preferred
Knowledge and Skills :
- Able to perform above duties in a fast paced environment.
- Able to multi-task, prioritize and problem solve.
- Able to operate material handling equipment in a safe manner, consistent with established procedures, including maintaining forklift batteries, conducting daily circle checks and completing required documentation.
- Good knowledge of inventory control and order picking.
- Able to count, sort, code, and record information as required for inventory control.
- Good knowledge of GMPs, SOPs, Health & Safety procedures, including, OHSA & WHMIS.
- Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team.
- Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors as a Quality Focused, Service Oriented Team Player.
- Able to operate forklift and power jack safely while following company training & policies.

Physical Demands :
Regularly requires intermittent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Physical strength and dexterity sufficient to perform the required task(s).
Must occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds or more with assistance. Additional demands may be required.
Work Environment :
In addition to normal business hours, work schedules may include after hours and weekends as needed. May work outside and in adverse temperatures which include extreme hot, cold, and humidity.
Must be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment as required by established Company Safety standards.
