SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Responsible for sourcing, negotiation, contract management and supplier relationship management;
  • Coordinate the activities of buyers both inside and outside sales related employees involved in purchasing materials, products, and services;
  • Establish and implement department and team’s objectives and priorities to align with and support the business goals, promoting collaboration and coordination of procurement activities with key stakeholders;
  • Oversee and supervise employees, directing day-to-day activities, as well as looking after recruitment, training and development, to ensure a high standard of service delivery;
  • Lead the development and implementation of sourcing strategies to achieve forecasted MRO budget;
  • Conduct assessment of current state and future requirements, analyze market trends and potential suppliers, and identify processes for continuous improvement;
  • Develop long range supply chain and pricing strategies;
  • Lead cost reduction initiatives and ensure that effective control measures are in place to address purchase prices variances;
  • Generate direct savings by developing and sourcing strategies which will enable cost reduction while ensuring that user needs are met;
  • Provide input and recommendations for the development and implementation of processes and procedures aimed at supporting the departmental vision for Procurement and strategic Supply Chain;
  • Responsible to develop and manage the requests for proposals (RFPs);
  • Negotiate and establish vendor volume rebate agreements;
  • Ensure that all Customs matters are handled quickly and efficiently;
  • Act as first line of escalation for buyer issues related to internal support, parts procurement and supplier performance.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED :

  • Certificate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain / purchasing, operations management, business administration, or any other related field is preferred;
  • Minimum of seven (8) years of experience in purchasing, procurement and strategic sourcing, including the development of business strategies or equivalent;
  • Experience in MRO purchasing is considered an asset;
  • Previous experience in aerospace, airline operations, corporate aviation industry, including detailed knowledge of modern aircraft;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and understand business practices, elicit and define requirements, and identify appropriate solutions and options;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with various audiences;Excellent negotiation skills;
  • Sound operational and tactical decision making skills;
  • Proven ability to effectively plan, prioritize, document and implement sequential completion of tasks and processes to minimize revenue loss;
  • Demonstrated ability to build internal customers / external suppliers relationships to optimize operational performance and process improvement;
  • Superior customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization;
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills;
  • Strong mentoring and coaching skills being able to train and develop subordinate's skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities simultaneously;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, Word, Excel, Inventory and ERP systems.
