Adecco is currently recruiting for a Technical Writer. This is a 12-month remote contract opportunity with a possibility of extension.
This role is with one of our government client based in Ottawa. The successful candidate must be eligible for a Reliability level Security Clearance.
The Technical Writer will have the following responsibilities :
- Analyzing material, such as specifications (Technical Statement of Work / Requirement), notes, drawings, writing manuals, user guides and other documents to explain the requirement clearly and concisely;
- Drafting, reviewing, and revising documents, Scope of Work (SOW), policies, and procedures as assigned;
- Create Technical Reports and documentation to support project requirements;
- Interacting with managers and other stakeholders to identify documents that require updating / cancellation, gather technical information, and ensure accuracy;
- Establishing evaluation criteria to assist in prioritizing subsequent activities;
- Create a prioritized revision plan for each functional support area;
- Manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
The Technical Writer must meet the following mandatory requirements :
- 2+years of experience working with high level technical writing responsibilities;
- 2+ years of experience with management system documentation and operating policy documentation;
- 2+ years of researching for document preparation and preparing outlines for documentation;
- 2+ years of experience Organizing, writing, editing, reviewing, correcting, and finalizing documentation;
- Prioritizing and sequencing work and creating a prioritized, sequenced plan;
- Proven experience in writing Scope of Work (SOW) documents and technical reports;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
