Summary of Job Description
- Participate in preliminary and critical system design reviews.
- Prepare or contribute to program software and electronic hardware certification plans.
- Evaluate supplier's software and electronic (FPGA, ASIC, PLD) designs.
- Conduct technical and process audits.
- Perform safety of flight reviews.
- Assess software and electronic hardware life‑cycle data to ensure compliance with standards.
- Lead the resolution of safety, compliance, or technical deficiencies with suppliers and other program stakeholders.
- Prepare and / or review design compliance reports.
- Contribute to the evolution of EEDA best practices.
Qualifications
University engineering degree in Avionics, Electronics, Software, or equivalent.Minimum 8 years of technical engineering experience, including at least 5 years in aeronautics.Minimum 5 years of experience in airborne software and electronic hardware.Knowledge of guidance and compliance standards : ARP‑5754A / B, RTCA DO‑178B / C (including supplements), DO‑248B / C, DO‑254, DO‑297 (IMA), DO‑326A / DO‑356A / DO‑355, DO‑330, DO‑200A, FAA AC 20‑115D, AC 20‑152A, Order 8110.49A, and 8110.105A.Multiple programming languages (C, C++, Ada95, Assembly, Python, etc.) and multiple hardware description languages.Experience with requirements capture environments (DOORS, JAMA, etc.).Understanding of embedded computer architectures, operating systems, and real‑time executors.Eligible for P. Eng. or equivalent.Ambitious, results‑driven, capable of working independently with little supervision.Organized, detail‑oriented, team player, self‑motivated, customer‑focused, and able to work under pressure.Proactive, adaptable, flexible, innovative, with strong accountability and integrity.Experience with airworthiness authorities or their engineers is an asset.French knowledge is beneficial; if not native, plan to acquire proficiency.Functional knowledge of English is required for communication with Bell teams outside Québec and with suppliers, partners, and clients overseas.Any equivalent combination of schooling and experience may be considered.Benefits
