You will be involved in all project phases from bid through operations with an initial focus on operations. This role demands a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic team.

You will report directly to our Sr. Engineering Manager, and you’ll work out of our Markham, ON location.

Design Phase :

  • Metering Scheme : Validate that the metering scheme is adequate for managing the energy guarantee.
  • Planning Documents : Develop Measurement and Verification (M&V) Plans (IPMVP Option D, Method 2) and Energy Management Plans for typical 30-year contracts.

Operations Phase :

  • Coordination : Collaborate with builders and engineering consultants to address deficiencies, provide feedback, and contribute to solution development.
  • Contractual Compliance : Offer guidance to ensure all contractual energy requirements are fulfilled.
  • Commissioning Support : Assist the Facility Management (FM) team in the commissioning process to ensure energy guarantees are met.
  • Data Analysis : Analyze energy usage data, oversee energy reports, and investigate discrepancies in consumption. Present findings, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend improvements.
  • Energy Conservation : Work with site / building automation technicians to implement energy conservation measures. Manage client expectations and advise on the energy implications of proposed building changes.
  • Meetings : Lead Utility Subcommittee meetings (typically quarterly) and provide insights into energy performance and potential improvements.

Must Have :

  • Education : Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Licensing : Eligible for or possess a Professional Engineer license in Ontario, and Class G Driver’s License for periodic site visits.
  • Experience : Minimum of 3-years in Energy Management or Mechanical Design.
