Co-op Developer, Quality and Infrastructure

Survalent is seeking innovative and enthusiastic Software Developer Co-op students to join our Web Application Development team. This team is responsible for building secure, high-performance, and scalable web applications that help electric utilities monitor, control, and manage power flow ensuring safe and efficient delivery of electricity. As part of the team, you’ll work on both front-end and back-end development using modern frameworks and technologies.

In this role, you will primarily support our quality assurance and CI / CD initiatives. This includes developing automated test scripts using our internal framework (leveraging Playwright, TypeScript, Node.js, and various tools), working with required data stacks, and helping to enhance our infrastructure to better support automation. It’s a great opportunity to gain practical experience in real-time software systems, modern QA practices, and the power utility industry. What will you be doing?

• Work with the Team Lead / Senior developers to create automated / functional test scripts for both Server / Web Applications.
• Coordinate with the Build team to integrate those scripts into software building process and advance our CI / CD infrastructure.
• Create technical documentation as required.
• Contribute as a member of a development team to write high-quality and maintainable code including Front-end UI and effective Web (REST) APIs.
• Test real-time software to ensure responsiveness, scalability, and efficiency.
• Follow Agile development processes to ensure efficiency while maintaining product robustness and quality.
• Other duties as required
