Your responsibilities :
- Carry out, in collaboration with the technical staff, the foundation, structural, building and civil engineering design for low, medium and high voltage electrical transmission and distribution substation projects;
- Prepare work plans and tenders for new projects;
- Supervise and develop junior / intermediate engineers and technicians;
- Participate in ongoing customer relations, inspections and site interventions;
- Design feasibility and detail engineering plans for electrical infrastructure;
- Analysis and design of electrical substation buildings;
- Perform interventions in terms of surface and underground work;
- Follow up on the preparation of civil engineering plans and specifications originally prepared by a civil engineer;
- Design structural steel and concrete drawings according to the 3D analysis and design codes in use in Canada and internationally;
- Supervise CAD technicians in the preparation of drawings;
- Supervise structural inspectors in the preparation of inspection reports and repair designs;
- Prepare specifications for buildings, foundations and structural work.
Your profile :
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent;
- Minimum ten (10) years of professional experience in civil structural engineering;
- Member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario;
- Experience in energy sector’s infrastructure, structures and buildings;
- Familiar with building codes and major design codes and standards;
- Proficiency with structural engineering software and computer-aided design (CAD) software;
- Working knowledge of Revit and BIM software (asset);
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken;
- Effective organizational and report writing skills;
- Excellent communication skills and ability to meet deadlines;
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills, good sense of priorities and attention to details;
- Have initiative, good observation skills, curiosity and ingenuity.
