Within the Energy team, as a Senior Civil Structural Engineer :

Your responsibilities

• Carry out, in collaboration with the technical staff, the foundation, structural, building and civil engineering design for low, medium and high voltage electrical transmission and distribution substation projects;
• Prepare work plans and tenders for new projects;
• Supervise and develop junior / intermediate engineers and technicians;
• Participate in ongoing customer relations, inspections and site interventions;
• Design feasibility and detail engineering plans for electrical infrastructure;
• Analysis and design of electrical substation buildings;
• Perform interventions in terms of surface and underground work;
• Follow up on the preparation of civil engineering plans and specifications originally prepared by a civil engineer;
• Design structural steel and concrete drawings according to the 3D analysis and design codes in use in Canada and internationally;
• Supervise CAD technicians in the preparation of drawings;
• Supervise structural inspectors in the preparation of inspection reports and repair designs;
• Prepare specifications for buildings, foundations and structural work.

Your profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent;
• Minimum ten (10) years of professional experience in civil structural engineering;
• Member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario;
• Experience in energy sector’s infrastructure, structures and buildings;
• Familiar with building codes and major design codes and standards;
• Proficiency with structural engineering software and computer-aided design (CAD) software;
• Working knowledge of Revit and BIM software (asset)
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken;
• Effective organizational and report writing skills;
• Excellent communication skills and ability to meet deadlines;
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills, good sense of priorities and attention to details;
• Have initiative, good observation skills, curiosity and ingenuity.
