Regional Accounting Manager, Muskoka Regional Office

Maple Leaf Marinas is the largest owner of premium Marinas in Canada with locations on Lake Simcoe, Lake Muskoka, Lake Joseph and Georgian Bay, Ontario.

We are seeking a strong, motivated individual for this role; a self-starter that enjoys a challenge. Demonstrating effective communication skills, you will create a collaborative, and positive dialogue with the management team and will supply timely and accurate financial reporting.

The Regional Accounting Manager will work from our regional office in Mactier, ON and report to the Director of Accounting.

Regional Accounting Manager, Muskoka Regional Office, Mactier, ON

Accounting Duties include but not limited to :

Managing and overseeing the daily operations of the Regional Accounting Department

Ensure effective communication between head offices and marina office personnel

Establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies and principles (ASPE)

Coordinate the month-end close for the marina portfolio ensuring deadlines are maintained, producing monthly manager reporting and ad hoc financial statements, produce forecasts and budgets, assist in year end closing and provide supporting documentation for auditors

Monitoring and analyzing accounting data and oversee and assist with monthly account reconciliations

Recommend enhancements to internal controls

Provide training on new policies and procedures

Travel to Marinas occasionally for support (Northern Georgian Bay / Muskoka area)

Knowledge & Skills :

Good verbal and written communication skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Continuous improvement mind-set, following a standardize, streamline and simplify framework

Show discretion and confidentiality with sensitive information

Good time management skills, able to manage conflicting priorities and tight deadlines

Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility with job tasks and changes within the company

Proficient in Microsoft Office Strong Excel skills would be an asset

Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision

Team player

Education & Experience :

Post Secondary education in Accounting / Finance

Experience with LightSpeed and Dock Master would be an asset

Previous Accounting / Finance Management
