The Area of Health Policy & Management within the DeGroote School of Business invites applications for the following teaching position to be offered in the 2025 Winter session.

Course Name / number : C710, Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Health Economics and Evaluation

This course will examine the application of economic principles to policy-relevant questions in the area of health and healthcare services from interdisciplinary perspectives. Topics will include applied health economics, economic correlates to health, demand and supply of healthcare and insurance, alternative payment schemes, economic regulation of the pharmaceutical industry, cost-effectiveness and cost-benefit analyses, QALY’s, and means by which to improve value-for-money in the health sector. Analytic techniques and illustrative examples will focus on international jurisdictional differences using a global lens.

Required Qualifications :

A Master’s degree in a relevant subject area and experience working and / or teaching in the area of health care marketing.

Preferred Qualifications :

A Ph.D. preferred in a relevant subject area; five years of experience : teaching graduate course, or as a senior manager in a health related organization, or CHE (Certified Health Executive) designation from the College of Health Leaders; familiarity with Avenue to Learn or similar online learning platforms.

Wage Rate

  • The DeGroote School of Business offers a pay rate commensurate with qualifications and related teaching experience in a range from $8,600 to $9,750. The exact rate of pay is determined at the sole discretion of the employment supervisor, according to standard evaluation criteria.
