Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY :
The Eating Disorder Centre of SSMU Recruitment Coordinator will ensure the sustainable and smooth running of all recruitments within the Centre, applying to not only the hiring of coordinators, and managers, but also volunteers.
Their work will primarily focus on coordinating and managing the delegation of tasks for recruitment, and the access and creation of relevant documents.
They will also be acting as an ombudsperson for coordinators, managing any issues related to the members of the administrative committee.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Update and run a training for the administrative team on how to hold and enact supervisory roles responsibly, as well as consulting with HR to ensure all content aligns with their updates practices.
- Meet with the HR department each year, and at the introduction of any new staff.
- Undertake all communications of the Centre related to HR with the SSMU.
- Manage the management of documentation relating to recruitments and hirings, and their storage.
- Select, communicate, and delegate tasks to team members involved in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding process of new staff.
- Ensure the consistent updating of job descriptions, pay scales, onboarding documents and exit reports for positions at the Centre each year.
- Ensure the proper and consistent access to onboarding documents, and work platforms for all new staff of the centre, as well as the execution of a check-in by their supervisor one month into their role.
- Assist the Volunteer, Events, & Communications Coordinators with their annual recruitment of volunteers.
- Assure the proper offboarding of all employees at the end of the year.
- Attend the weekly meetings of the Administrative Committee.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS :
To undertake other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by EDCSSMU.
SUPERVISION REQUIRED :
The EDSSMU Recruitment Coordinator will receive direction from the internal processes of the Centre and the HR department, but will not receive any direct supervision from any one other than the VP Student Life.
Qualifications
- Experience and training with conflict resolution;
- Past Involvement with the Centre as a Coordinator or Volunteer, or in the SSMU HR Department is an asset;
- Diligence and impartiality in execution of duties;
- Ability to work effectively under pressure;
- Organized and capable of following through on a project;
- Management and leadership skills;
- Relationship building and negotiation skills;
- Able to work independently and in a team environment;
- Awareness of accessible and accommodating practices;
- Strong communication skills both in English and French an asset; and
- Demonstrated understanding of anti-racism and anti-oppressive practices.

- Paid position : $15.96
- Start Date : September 25, 2023
- Hours : 5-10 hours per week
