Manager, Quality Control

Dawson Construction is looking for an experienced leader who can step into the role of Manager, Quality Contro l. This role will entail leading the quality assurance and quality control processes for operations, ensuring that all work meets or exceeds client expectations and regulatory requirements.

In this role you will be a valued member of Dawson Construction, working in a permanent, full-time position of Manager, Quality Control. Reporting to the Project Manager and Estimator, a key member of the leadership team, this role will work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and crew members to monitor and evaluate projects from inception to completion, focusing on quality, efficiency, and safety. Your base location will be Kamloops, B.C . and will require some travel throughout our great province.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

• Lead and manage Dawson Construction’s Quality Control department, including oversight, mentorship, and development of QC staff and inspectors.
• Establish, implement, and continuously improve the company’s QA / QC program to ensure construction activities comply with contract requirements, industry standards, and regulatory obligations.
• Oversee materials testing and inspection programs across projects, including asphalt, concrete, aggregates, and related materials, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and timely reporting.
• Collaborate with Project Management and Operations leadership to proactively identify quality risks, resolve issues, and support successful project delivery.
• Ensure QC staffing, resources, and testing coverage are appropriately planned and aligned with project needs.
• Review and analyze quality data, test results, and non-conformance trends to drive continuous improvement and prevent repeat issues.
• Maintain and enforce quality documentation systems, including inspection records, reports, and corrective action plans.
• Support a strong safety culture within the QC department and across project teams by ensuring quality activities align with safety requirements and best practices.
