The Regulatory Specialist ensures all finished products sold by Embassy Ingredients meet all legal, regulatory and certification requirements at the time of final sale. They manage all product information requests (both internally and externally) and are the primary support and backup for QC Technicians.
Responsibilities
- Oversees the regulatory compliance program to ensure all products manufactured meet national and international regulatory requirements.
- Manages the QA inbox – organizes all incoming emails and requests and delegates tasks as needed.
- Manages all finished product technical data and regulatory packages. Ensures information with the kosher database, genesis and the spec database are up-to-date and meet all national and international regulatory requirements.
- Responsible for completing all quality reviews and risk assessments and gives final approval for new products and product changes. Sends out a weekly commercialization update to the team.
- Lead’s the product inactivation process.
- Provides regulatory support to the R&D teams.
- Manages all customer requests.
- Manages Labelview and all label generation (including information displayed on labels).
- Is an expert on all quality‑related electronic systems – including spec database, genesis, SharePoint, Office 365, Dynamics CRM, planner, Business Central.
- Member of the HACCP team and internal audit team – conducts facility inspections.
- Approves new raw materials and suppliers.
- Completes annual and ongoing supplier vulnerability risk assessments.
- Ensures all documents are up-to-date.
- Conducts investigations and full RCA‑CAPA for all supplier complaints.
- Sends a weekly new raw material update to the team.
- Is fully trained on all dry‑side QC processes and liquid‑side QC processes. Acts as the primary backup for QC (when QC is unavailable or on vacation).
- Provides daily support to QC to ensure efficient QC lab operations.
- Prints and approves all dry‑side labels daily.
- Conducts allergen testing (such as GF testing and other certification‑related testing) as per production schedules.
- Is an immediate support function for Operations.
- Supports all food‑safety initiatives, including (but not limited to) BRCGS, HACCP, GMPs, Allergens, GFCP, Kosher, Halal, Customer Requirements (such as Costco standards and Kraft Standards).
- Ensures all activities maintain the food safety, authenticity, legality, and quality of our products.

Qualifications
College diploma or university degree in Chemistry, Food Science or Microbiology.
