• Drive and Deliver
• Driving a truck and dog tipper for Heidelberg Materials Australia is great role if you enjoy having a little bit of variety in your day, but you also enjoy a bit of routine. On some days you will be meeting with new customers but on others you will be seeing the same faces as yesterday. You don’t have to be a customer service super star, but it would help if you can hold a conversation with our customers when you need to.
• About the role :
• Based out of our White Rock Quarry, most days will start between 4am and 6am and drivers can do up to and over 10 hours per day, and around 50 – 55 hours per week. Saturday work is generally available, paid at overtime rates
• We pay a base rate and once you go past your regular hours in one day the first two after that will be at time and a half. If you do more than 2 hours overtime in a day, you go to double time. Meal allowances are generally paid after 10 hours in one shift
• You will be operating our truck and dogs with tipper trailers. If you haven’t mastered the art of a dual tip, don’t worry, we’ll show you how.
• Most days will start at our quarry, and you will be delivering aggregates to our clients. Some days will be the same as the last one, but others will have a bit of variety in where you drop off.
• We provide cutting edge technology to not only keep you safe whilst driving, but also to help you map your routes and keep track of your day
• About you :
• Minimum of HC license with previous truck and dog driving experience (essential)
• You enjoy meeting people, but you also enjoy the solitude of driving
• You don’t mind a bit of variety in your working days but also enjoy working to a set route and routine
• You take pride in the appearance of your truck. Keep it clean, give it a wash and present the best image of our company. You are a mobile billboard and people notice a dirty truck
• Able to pass a pre-employment medical, including a drug and alcohol test (random testing is also conducted on all Heidelberg Materials Australia sites)
• Some of our trucks have driver weight limits on their seats and seatbelts. For safety reasons, you may be required to be under a specified weight for these trucks
