Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Field) at Cooper Equipment Rentals Limited
We are looking for customer-oriented, motivated individuals to join our professional team in Canada, with consideration for relocation to London, ON as needed. Applicants should be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, service and maintain a diverse fleet of construction equipment including earth-moving equipment, compaction equipment, and aerial equipment such as telehandlers, boom lifts and scissor lifts on customer jobsites and in the shop as needed.
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions and perform required repairs, testing repaired equipment for proper performance on customer jobsites and in the shop as needed.
- Provide a high standard of customer service in all interactions with customers.
- Maintain documentation of inspections, maintenance, and work orders in a thorough and timely manner.
- Assist with other duties within the branch such as washing and cleaning equipment, organizing the yard, deliveries, answering phones, etc., to support the opening of the new London, ON location.
- Adhere to all company Health and Safety Policies.
Qualifications and Requirements
Minimum 2 years of mechanical experience on a variety of construction equipment. 421A or 310T license is an asset (but not required).Valid class G driver\'s license with a clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract (no more than 3 demerit points).Must be able to lift up to approximately 50 lbs.Highly flexible with the ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment; willing to assist with other duties within the branch.Must be available and willing to work overtime and on an on-call rotation as needed.Strong understanding of computer applications and diagnostic tools.Strong working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic pumps, and motors.Excellent problem-solving skills and customer-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills.Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision.Benefits
