Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the Manager, Finance team partners closely with both ParaMed operations and the corporate finance group to manage the general accounting and reporting functions of the division. In addition, the Manager will collaborate on analyzing and preparing annual budgets, interim forecasts, and cash flow projections.
This position will be located between our Head Office in Markham with weekly travel to Mississauga. Extendicare offers a hybrid work model.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and monitor day-to-day accounting operations and month-end and year-end processes.
- Ensure compliance with the financial procedures of the organization and taxation requirements.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly journal entries and assist in the closing process and financial statement preparation.
- Identify, research, and resolve accounting errors and discrepancies.
- Oversee the preparation of regulatory and governmental reports.
- Reviews and approves all balance sheet reconciliations.
- Communicate effectively and regularly with other department personnel to obtain information and / or to correct transactions.
- Lead and develop the accounting team.
- Stay informed of developments in the accounting field and of changing governmental and legal requirements.
- Assume responsibility for related duties including special projects as required or assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5+ years of work experience in finance.University degree in Finance or Accounting or related field.CPA (i.e. CA, CMA, or CGA) or CFA certification is required.Expert knowledge of Excel and the ability to work with and manage large amounts of data.Highly detailed, and robust analytical skills with the ability to resolve issues independently.Strong presence and demonstrated ability to build internal and external relationships.Ability to clearly articulate ideas and positions to senior leaders.Collaborative, relationship oriented and self-driven with a desire to quickly learn our businesses and industries.Benefits
