We are currently seeking a full-time Certified Refrigeration Operator / General Maintenance for one of the nation’s largest food service distributors at their Delta facility! They are a successful, consistently growing and family-oriented company.
Shift : Sunday to Wednesday from 10 : 00pm – 8 : 00am (4 days x 10 hours) OR Floater shift (flexible to cover any 4 x 10's schedule as needed, vacation or sick coverage)
Reporting to the Facility Manager, this position will be responsible for daily general maintenance upkeep such as the building’s mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems to ensure a safe, efficient and comfortable environment for building occupants. Additionally, this position will perform system checks to keep the ammonia refrigeration equipment in good repair and temperatures at their ideal settings.
Compensation :
- $42.75 / hr + $1.75 / hr night shift premium = $44 / hr!

Responsibilities :
Performing scheduled / unscheduled testing and maintenance on batteriesConducting general preventative maintenance of facility systems, refrigeration equipment, material handling equipment, racking, dock equipment, building automation systems, plumbing systems, and paintingMonitoring temperature readings on refrigeration equipment, defrost setups, alarm monitoring, maintaining documentation and operations of the ammonia plant facilityEntering data into work order systems (Maximo) in a timely mannerMaintaining a safe facility in meeting all Provincial and local guidelinesAssisting to ensure occupational health and safety and regulatory compliance and working with contractors as requiredCollaborates with Risk Manager to develop written Process Safety Manual (PSM) and Risk Management PlanRequirements :
At least a Refrigeration Operator Endorsement or 5th Class Power Engineer or 4th Class Power EngineerCriminal background checkRefrigeration / Ammonia experience is an assetExperience in diagnosing and repairing technical and facility equipmentAbility to lift, move and carry heavy objectsA strong mechanical aptitude with proven troubleshooting abilitiescomputer skills and good problem-solving skillsOther professional certificates and schooling would be an asset (Electrical, Millwork or Welding)Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, racking, carpentry, welding, and hydraulics is an asset#BRBC
