Job Description

Supporting event operations management through the supervision of the Banquet Events team in the set up and service of guests’ functions, ensuring four diamond service levels and standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise all phases of Banquet functions
  • Assist Banquet Manager and Assistant Manager with scheduling, training, and performance management
  • Train and oversee Event Servers on set-up, tear-down, and service duties
  • Provide guidance to Banquet Captains and Servers through on-going training and coaching
  • Ensure all coffee breaks / meals / meeting rooms are set up for the required time and to the proper standards
  • Attend regularly scheduled Banquet meetings
  • Ensure the proper maintenance and housekeeping of Banquet storage rooms, back spaces and functions spaces
  • Enter and print daily billing for Banquet functions
  • Cross train in other F&B outlets to fill in when required

Qualifications

  • Alberta ProServe Certification
  • Post-secondary education in hospitality or tourism is an asset
  • 2+ years of experience in banquet service
  • Previous supervisory experience is an asset
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the position
  • Knowledgeable in a variety of liquor and wine
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Available to work a flexible schedule and long hours based on business levels
  • Customer-service oriented
  • Computer-literate
  • Actively contributes to a positive and motivating work environment
