About Us

Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to energize a clean-air world. Utilities around the world rely on our nuclear fuel products to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power.

Cameco’s corporate office is based in Saskatoon. We have mining operations and projects in northern Saskatchewan, Kazakhstan, the United States and Australia.

We are also a leading supplier of uranium refining, conversion, and fuel manufacturing services from our operations in Ontario.

The Role

We are looking for a student who is a collaborative team player who has excellent communication and organization skills to join our Safety, Health, Environment, Quality (SHEQ) & Regulatory Relations department.

This full-time position will be based in Saskatoon with possible travel to the northern Saskatchewan operations.

In this role, you will :

  • Conduct research on various environmental topics and environmental regulations.
  • Interpret and analyse environmental data while supporting regulatory and licensing initiatives.
  • Support the Cameco environmental database processes.
  • Be responsible for collecting high-quality data, interpreting laboratory analytical results, and preparing technical memos.

Required :

  • You are entering your third or fourth year as a university student specializing in environmental sciences, environmental engineering, natural sciences or a related field.
  • Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered.
  • The successful candidate must hold a valid driver’s license.

Recommended :

  • Proficiency with basic computer skills is required and some field experience is an asset.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision as well as within a team environment.
  • Understanding of federal and provincial environmental regulations.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills are required.
