Position : HR Data Analytics Specialist
Location : Ontario (Burlington or Oakville)
Workplace Flexibility : Hybrid policy – required presence in office minimum 2 days per week.

Are you passionate about turning data into meaningful insights that drive better people decisions? We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical HR Data Analytics Specialist to support our Human Resources team with data insights, reporting, and system optimization. The successful candidate will help shape how HR metrics are tracked and communicated across the organization by building dashboards, analyzing trends, and supporting the HR team with data‑informed decision‑making.
Reporting to the HR Operational Excellence Manager, this role will play a key role in shaping the HR analytics function and enabling data-driven HR strategies. This is a 12‑month contract position covering a maternity leave—an exciting opportunity to make a real impact within a collaborative and forward-thinking team.
Responsibilities
- Design and create Power BI dashboards, presentations, and reports, providing insights on key HR metrics.
- Ensure delivery of predictive analytics and actionable recommendations to drive data‑driven decisions across the organization.
- Develop and identify opportunities to optimize current reporting structures, promote self‑service analytics in Dayforce to gain efficiency, improve adherence on Dayforce, and enhance the People Leader’s Experience.
- Review AI capacity within our system to identify opportunities to accelerate HR processes.
- Generate regular and ad‑hoc HR reports to support various business units (e.g., headcount, turnover, recruitment metrics, absenteeism, etc.).
- Identify, collect, and validate data from HR systems and other business sources to establish and improve data quality, ensuring accuracy and consistency for ongoing reports.
- Conduct in-depth analyses of HR data to identify trends, anomalies, and forecasts.
- Organize and maintain a central list of required HR business reports and ensure timely delivery.
- Analyze various trends and provide insights to support strategies (workforce planning, engagement, LOA, performance, turnover and benefits).
- Present HR data and insights in clear, visual formats for HR and management review.
- Collaborate with HR leaders to identify reporting needs and provide data-driven insights.
- Collaborate with HR team members to support ongoing projects, process improvements, and administrative tasks (third party carrier‑feeds, data imports).
- Partner with teammates to enhance the HRIS system and improve its reporting functionality.
- Support compliance, audit, and HR data governance activities.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field.3‑5 years of experience in HR analytics, HR reporting, or HRIS administration.Experience with HR systems (Dayforce, Workday, BambooHR, etc.).Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and visualization design / tools (Power BI, Tableau).Strong understanding of HR metrics, KPIs, and workforce data.Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.Strong organizational skills, autonomous and able to manage multiple priorities.Clear communication skills and ability to present complex data in a simple, actionable way.Benefits

The annual base pay range for this position is $59,700.00 – $89,500.00. Base pay shown is a guideline; individual total compensation will vary based on experience, skills, education, and location. Base salary is one part of the total rewards package – this role will also qualify for a generous incentive program and full benefits.
