Sales Representative-Event Venue
Mississauga Convention Centre is looking for a Sales Representative- Event Venue responsible for developing event business and promoting our brand.
This candidate must work well with others in a collaborative atmosphere and relate well with clients to foster a positive experience.
The ideal candidate must be adaptable and maintain a professional and polished demeanor along with wide food and beverage knowledge.
This candidate must also understand the importance of, and promote, the Company’s Mission, Vision and Values.
Duties and Responsibilities
Execute an aggressive sales strategy for existing and annual sales goals
Prepare weekly sales summaries for review. Be able to speak on successes and failures to highlight opportunities.
Build and maintain a client base with a focus on inbound sales opportunities, booking repeat business through existing accounts and establishing long-term partnerships
Follow up with clients post event to ensure we are providing positive shareable experiences
Inputting, tagging and maintaining client relationships via CRM
Manage bookings to optimize revenue in all venues
Align with clients on event feasibility, forecasts, pricing, special offers
Coordinate event details with client, ensure payment scheduled is followed
Act as a liaison between clients and business operators. Communicate event details effectively to operations team using event orders, plans and other internal means of communication
Develop relationships outside of the business with key stakeholders
Attend, lead and participate in outside networking events, tradeshows and activations in order to build a book of prospects for future events at MCC
Develop a sales strategy to achieve personal and organizational sales goals and revenues. Coordinate sales activities.
Conduct sales calls, prospecting activities and entertaining
Must-haves :
2-3 years in a Event Management and / or Sales position in Hospitality and / or events industry
Experience selling and designing events in a hospitality setting across multiple markets
Experience with actively prospecting and cold calling
Thrive in a goal-oriented environment
A passion for exceeding customer expectations and providing positive shareable experiences
Demonstrate superior relationship building, selling and strong skills
An understanding of venue operations, food and beverage, and event planning
Proven success with implementing sales growth strategies
Highly organized, work pro-actively and efficiently
Hands-on individual with initiative and problem-solving skills
High acumen to detail and accuracy of data and information
Proven track record for making significant contributions to a growing business
Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to successfully interact with employees
Professional communications skills, both written and oral.
Proficient with computer systems including CRM’s
