Data Analyst

LeverageTek is actively seeking a Data Specialist for a 3-month contract with its Ottawa-based customer.

Key Tasks

• Liaise with internal Technology project teams and stakeholders to enable and ensure adherence to data standards, data quality, data planning, data governance, data security
• Provide leadership to project teams and stakeholders to ensure an understanding of the organization's data policies, data quality standards, data governance, data processes
• With project teams and stakeholders, identify project data needs, data risks
• Conduct data profiling and assessment based on data quality rules
• Conduct analysis of data to ensure compliance with standards and governance
• Conduct data profiling, identify and develop metadata and data models
• Provide knowledge transfer to project teams and stakeholders regarding best practices and adherence to the organizations’ data governance and quality standards
• Provide ongoing reporting to the organization’s Data and Information Management team regarding project data status, attending regular meetings as required

Key Qualifications

• 6+ years experience specializing in data planning, data analysis, data quality, data governance, data security, data risk management
• Strong expertise in Data Management and Data Governance
• Experience in data profiling, data modeling, metadata, data processes

Key Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering or in a related field
• Experience providing hands-on knowledge transfer to project teams
• Strong team collaboration and leadership skills
• Excellent communication skills (writing / verbal)
• Experience writing and presenting reports to key stakeholders
• Passion, diligence, analytical, detail-oriented
• Experience with Agile principles and the Scrum Framework

Assets

• Experience with the use of data modeling tools (Erwin, Collibra or other)
• Experience with Data Quality tools
